Litter Picking - 1st Nov 2024

Members were out and about in the reserve litter picking on Friday 1st November and whilst there was the usual water bottle or can to pick up around the main field and ponds nothing prepared them for the amount of rubbish that had been deposited near the north gate in Lower Noke Close and going up towards the top gate where it comes out at Noak Hill Road/Chequers Lane.

Seven large bags were filled with other people’s rubbish that they had left along the edges of the lane and near the top gate which not only included empty drinks bottles and cans but also wrappers and plastic bags all of which not only looks unsightly but can also be dangerous to wildlife.

Under two hours and the area was once again clear of rubbish and looking more better as those undertaking the litter pick also cut back and pruned some over hanging vegetation as well as opening up areas for easy access.
